Job Description:

The Infrastructure and Security Solutions Engineer is a pivotal role within our organization, blending expertise in cloud services, cybersecurity, and system architecture to support and enhance our operational infrastructure. This position is responsible for a wide range of tasks that ensure the efficiency, security, and resilience of our IT systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Cloud Services Management (20%): Oversee and manage our AWS environment, including deployment and management of resources using Terraform, and configuration of Virtual Private Clouds (VPCs) to ensure secure and efficient cloud operations.
  • Infrastructure Support (40%): Provide advanced-level support for our infrastructure, offering general advice, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring the optimal performance of our systems. This includes but is not limited to virtualization platforms, such as Proxmox, and ensuring the stability and reliability of our IT environment.
  • Solution Design and Implementation (40%): Research, design, and implement solutions for our infrastructure to support the organization's operations. This involves configuring new systems, investigating innovative solutions, and adapting to unique requests, such as setting up domains and infrastructure for red team assessments.
  • Advanced Scripting: Engage in tasks that require more than basic scripting, contributing to the development and customization of tools and applications that support our infrastructure and security needs.
  • Client Interaction: Act as a liaison with clients, discussing and advising on network configurations and security best practices, ensuring a secure and efficient collaboration between our organizations.
  • Cybersecurity: Apply cybersecurity principles and knowledge to protect our environment, including the design and management of a robust backup system for organizational and individual resilience against threats.
  • BYOD Environment Management: Develop and implement strategies to support and manage a Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) environment, ensuring secure and efficient access across multiple user environments.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in Linux system administration, with a strong background in cybersecurity, cloud services (preferably AWS), and virtualization technologies (such as Proxmox).
  • Familiarity with programming and scripting to automate tasks and develop custom solutions.
  • Experience in designing and implementing backup and recovery systems for data protection and disaster recovery.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to handle unconventional requests and challenges.
  • Excellent communication skills, with experience in client-facing roles and the ability to explain technical details to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity practices and familiarity with industry-standard tools.
  • Previous experience in a cybersecurity role, such as penetration testing, is highly desirable.
